As a native New Orleans artist I’ve worked on some bizarre projects for wonderful clients. I began taking watercolor portrait commissions when I was 15, attended University of New Orleans at 16 to earn a degree in Art History & Gender Studies, and have been full-time freelance since 2012 (the third generation of my family to be self-employed).
I am best known for custom fit spandex bodysuits with snap crotches, which are ideal for parades and performances. I also make bespoke cocktail dresses, gowns, and jackets for formal events and personal milestones. My work in costume design and dress making is lately expanding into installations: my mission is creating blissful spaces for bodies to exist in comfortably.
I contribute to Mardi Gras culture through Krewe du Vieux (as Royal Costumer and art director of the LEWD float), the biggest “secret” costume ball in the city, St Ann Parade, Merry Antoinettes, Petronius (the oldest gay krewe), Zulu Tramps, and a rainbow of commissioned works. After graduating college and 6 months backpacking Europe, I spent seven years in Los Angeles where I focused on producing costumes, theme camp, and art car designs for Burning Man festival; created samples and small batch runs for start-up design labels; explored the treasures of the Fabric District while learning the ropes & paying my dues; and clothed a lot of LA entertainment weirdos: including magicians, musicians, and maniacs.
